FAQs

How are the Cocoa Infusions Made?

The infusions start their journey as raw cocoa beans in South America, where they are harvested and left to ferment in the sun for up to 48 hours. After the fermentation process they are shipped to the UK where they are roasted and winnowed, leaving the husk which the infusions are made from.

We then blend the shells (the husk) with different flavours to create our delectable, healthy range of infusions.

The process is entirely hand made with care and love.

How do I prepare my drink?

  • Place 1-2 teaspoons into an infuser, tea bag or tea pot (approx 4g).
  • Add hot water and let steep for 3-4 minutes, depending on how strong you like your drink.
  • Strain or pour straight into a cup, inhale the aroma and  enjoy the light delicate yet indulgent chocolate taste.
  • Add milk / mylk or sugar if you wish.

Can I re-use the shells?

The shells can be dried and used again but the flavour won't be as strong as the first time use. It is entirely up to you how chocolatey you like your drink.

Are the infusions caffeine free?

Yes! They contain theobromine which is a natural gentle stimulant unlike caffeine which can cause a high and then a crash after consumption.

(** note our Cocoa, Orange and Assam Tea infusion DOES contain a small amount of black tea.)

Are the infusions Gluten and Dairy free?

Yes they are! They are have no added ingredients, preservatives or artificial flavours.

Are there any health benefits to drinking the infusions?

Yes. The husks contain antioxidants, magnesium, fibre plus many other trace minerals all good for your body.

Are the infusions organic?

Yes. All our ingredients are sourced from the finest organic ingredients.

What is the best way to store the drink?

An air tight container in a cool, dry place is best to keep it fresh and full of flavour.

How long will they keep for?

If stored correctly they will keep for over a year!

Can I add milk (or mylk) to the infusions?

You can do depending on how you like your drink. Almond or coconut mylks make a creamy drink more like a hot chocolate which is still healthy and equally delicious.
